So much for that.

After announcing Monday that he would live stream his entire day on the campaign trail Tuesday, Rand Paul's great lifecasting experiment — dubbed #RandLive — turned out to be a major bust.

For voters who tuned into Paul's personal "Truman Show," the day started off quietly enough: Breakfast before a day of college rallies in Iowa.

But devotees who were hoping to follow along with Paul's five-stop tour wouldn't know it: The live stream was down for most of the day, which meant potential voters (and masochistic reporters) got to stare at this for hours at a time instead:

Better luck next time, Rand.
