LOS ANGELES --Battletoads. Conker's Bad Fur Day. Perfect Dark. Bona fide classics, the lot of them.

Rare Replay revives 30 classic games from the renowned studio behind some of gaming's most beloved series. It's coming to Xbox One on Aug. 4.

Rare's roots go all the way back to 1985, when it formed to pump out games for the fledgling Nintendo Entertainment System. Some of the notable early hits for the studio include R.C. Pro-Am, Wizards & Warriors and the aforementioned Battletoads.

The studio really started to turn heads during the SNES era, with the release of Donkey Kong Country. One of the most visually rich console games available at the time, Donkey Kong Country was an immediate hit for Nintendo with its lush world and addictive (if challenging) platforming gameplay.

Many younger fans likely recognize Rare's work from the Nintendo 64 days. It's the studio behind the N64 classics GoldenEye 007, which popularized competitive first-person shooting action for console gamers, and Banjo-Kazooie, one of the industry's most beloved platformers.

There isn't a full list of games available in Rare Replay just yet, but most of the titles mentioned above -- although not Donkey Kong Country, as that's a Nintendo series -- show up during the trailer.

Rare Replay comes to Xbox One as a $29.99 buy on Aug. 4.
