The Internet collectively sobbed last week when it saw photos of Lana the dog.

This week, we're still sobbing -- but for a different reason. Lana has found a temporary home.

Lana's life has been difficult. When she was first adopted, she developed guarding issues and snapped at her adoptive mother. Since the family had children, Lana's adoptive mother decided to return her to the shelter; once back at the kennel in Toronto, Lana withdrew into her cage, and refused to go on walks.

But love and support for Lana poured in online once the dog's story -- and sad photo -- went viral on The Dodo.

Rescue Dogs Match, the organization that cared for Lana, saw a spike in donations on its GoFundMe page, and a family stepped up to provide Lana with a foster home. It's a huge step forward for a pup who was once the runt in a litter of 12.

Lana is still up for adoption, and who could say no to that face?
