Veteran NASA astronaut Scott Kelly has just tweeted some stunning photographs of south India from the International Space Station.

The photographs are part of Kelly's #YearInSpace series, in which he's been posting surreal space photographs taken during his special year-long mission until March 2016. Kelly, who is the Commander of the Space Station, describes his photographs as "Earth Art", and his close-ups of landscapes across the planet often resemble beautiful abstract paintings.

Kelly had also taken a widely-shared photograph of south India at night in November.
