Two days after spotlighting the Israeli city of Tel Aviv in a live story, and unleashing a wave of criticism from Palestinians for not showing the other side of the conflict, Snapchat did just that when it published a story called "West Bank Live."
Users who opened the app on Thursday could view the story, which was made up of curated snaps from users showing everyday life in the Palestinian territory.
The snaps that Snapchat chose to spotlight range from cute (e.g. a kitten, a puppy giving high fives) to not-so-cute (e.g. the Israel-built West Bank barrier, a checkpoint to get into Bethlehem), so it didn't shy from controversy.
Others show scenes that are found in just about any city, including a man dancing, another strolling through a vegetable market and street art.
The decision to spotlight the West Bank seemed to come after Twitter users asked Snapchat why it was showing just one side of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
"Why don't u show us whats on the other side of the wall?" asked one.
"I wonder if we can get a Gaza story tomorrow to keep things in perspective," tweeted another.

Snapchat's Twitter account eventually responded to say the story would be published on Thursday, unleashing a wave of celebratory tweets.

Snapchat frequently publishes live stories from cities and events around the world. Twitter users are now requesting the company to publish a story on July 13 that spotlights the holy Islamic city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
"Dear @snapchat we want to see #Mecca_Live on July 13," one said. "More than 1.6 billion humans are waiting for this moment."

A Snapchat spokesperson told Mashable on Thursday that while it refuses to comment on its selection process, the company is delighted people are engaged, and enjoying this week's stories. As for a Mecca live story, the rep would only say to stay tuned.
