While it's common for the northern region of China to get hit by cold fronts and heavy snowfalls during winter, residents living in the south of the country rarely get to experience snow.

All that changed when China was hit with the coldest weather in decades this week and it snowed in the southern parts of the country.

Chinese residents in the south immediately jumped at the chance to build snowmen out of whatever little snow they could gather.

Photos of miniature snowmen soon flooded Weibo, and although these snowmen wouldn't be winning prizes for their statures anytime soon, they sure are adorable to look at.
