LONDON -- If you happened to share a name with one of your lecturers and you received an email from a confused classmate who thought you were that lecturer, would you (a) reply and correct them or (b) see if you could string them along for a bit.
Mark McKenna, a student at the University of the West of Scotland, recently found himself in that exact situation -- and he definitely went for the second option.

In the first email, Mark's classmate Gary apologised for not being able to attend a recent lecture due to trains being cancelled.
This was Mark's response.
McKenna confirmed to Mashable that his lecturer has the same name as him, and that this was the first time he'd been emailed by accident.
"Just thought it would be funny to wind one of the boys up," said Mark "Didn't think it would go this far though haha."
Mark went on to explain that his classmate Gary realised what had happened after Mark shared the exchange with his other classmates.
"I was with him today!" he said. "I posted it on our uni group chat and then he realised what he had done!"
