These sweet egg rolls use traditional Thanksgiving pie fillings

Thanksgiving means pie. And pie usually means leftover filling.

Don't let it go to waste. Make fun, festive and bite-sized pie egg rolls. They are a surefire Thanksgiving icebreaker and a great way to let your kids help out in the kitchen.

If you don't have egg roll experience, don't fret. This isn't about the perfectly wrapped parcel; it's about the spicy, sweet, crunchy tastes of your favorite pies in one golden-brown bite.

Be sure to start with your wrapper facing you in a diamond shape, don't spread the filling too far near the edge, and keep your wrappers in the fridge until you are ready to use them.

Also keep a small bowl of water nearby to seal the edges of each roll.

Seal the final edges then pop them in the oven at the recommended temperature on the egg roll package. Cook until the rolls are golden brown and the scent of apple, pumpkin and pecan fills your home.

They are sweet and delicious as is, but if you feel so inspired, add some cream cheese or other flavored icing. Tis the season — go sugar-crazy.
