LONDON – After a well-brewed cup of tea, bacon is possibly the thing that Britain holds dearest in its heart.
That passion was recently on view in one man's 500-word complaint about a missing bacon rasher, which has racked up around 15,000 shares since he posted it on Tesco's Facebook page Monday evening.

With lines such as: "Suddenly.. I stopped. I began to feel myself sink again only this time it was worse. I looked down at the tray and then at the packet, then back at the tray and once more took a real good look at the plastic ... There was only 6 rashers of bacon. 6," the rant is clearly a thing of beauty – but Tesco's response is arguably just as good.
It wasn't long before other people started chipping in.
The rant also sparked an enthusiastic side-thread about the merits of frying versus grilling, which shows no sign of calming down two days after the original comment was posted.
At this point we don't yet know if Ben Roberts has received his extra bacon rasher, but based on Tesco's reply it seems like things are looking good.
