Ringers with a taste for pork pies and coney stew may soon be able to transport themselves to the world of Frodo, Merry, Sam and Pippin with the help of a J.R.R. Tolkien-inspired cookbook.

Entitled Medium Rare And Back Again: A Tolkien Cookbook, the 30-recipe tome would include dishes from the world of iconic fantasy novels, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. But creator Heath Dill hasn't published it yet -- first, he's looking to fund the book via a Kickstarter campaign.

"I aim to spend, for the initial funding goal, roughly a month and a half in early 2013 researching, cooking, photographing and writing at least 30 recipes," Dill writes. "These recipes will cover different part of Tolkien's world -- light and delicate Elvish recipes like lembas bread, stout roasted Dwarven fare, hearty Hobbit pies and stews, as well as a few oddball recipes like Balrog Wings."

His blog, Dillicious, already features some Tolkien-themed recipes for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, afternoon tea, dinner and dessert.

So far, Dill has raised just over $4,200 of his $10,000 campaign goal.
