LOS ANGELES -- Upcoming Governor's Ball headliners The Black Keys have canceled all European tour dates from February to March due to drummer Patrick Carney's dislocated shoulder, which he sustained when a wave threw his body against the ocean floor.
The cancelation news, announced Friday, comes just two weeks after the swimming accident in St. Barths. The rock duo will tentatively continue the Turn Blue World Tour in April, pending how well Carney recovers from his injury.
"We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through March 10. Patrick needs time to heal. We thank all of our fans for their support, and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road," Carney and singer Dan Auerbach said in a joint statement.
The Black Keys will offer full refunds for their 17 canceled tour stops, and will not reschedule the shows because of prior "scheduled commitments and venue availability."

Carney joked about his Jan. 3 injury in an Instagram post earlier this month, using the caption, "Tune into my new Lifetime movie. Dislocated shoulder airing right now."

The tour, if Carney's recovery goes as planned, will resume April 2 in Brisbane, Australia.
