The Calleguas Municipal Water District has named Magnum, P.I. star Tom Selleck in a complaint alleging that the actor has been stealing truckloads of water from a public hydrant.

The stolen water, the complaint alleges, was being transported to Selleck's ranch and avocado farm in Hidden Valley, California.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the district hired a private investigator to solve the case, and all clues point to a white truck connected to the the actor famous for playing a private investigator.

The district claims that the truck has taken water from a specific hydrant to Selleck's 60-acre ranch more than 12 times since 2013. California, of course, is in the middle of one of the most severe droughts on record in state history.

This is why Monica left you, Tom.
