The unofficial final weekend of summer is upon us, and many will celebrate by getting out of town.
So where are your friends heading off to for this long, Labor Day weekend? Priceline.com shared its annual Labor Day weekend travel statistics, and unsurprisingly, Las Vegas tops the list. Sin City shares the top five with Chicago, Atlanta, San Diego and New York City.
But the city that's gained the most popularity recently in the minds of American travelers is St. Louis. The Missouri city jumped from #39 in 2013 to #10 in 2014.
As for bargains, Priceline.com reports that folks who choose to vacation in Miami or Dallas receive the best bang for their buck. Both cities experienced drops in average daily room rate, by 16% and 14%, respectively.
