LONDON -- UK police have released a video giving advice on what to do in the event of an attack similar to what happened on Nov. 13 in Paris.

"Stay Safe: Firearms and Weapons Attack," which was uploaded to YouTube on Thursday, advises people to run from an attack, hide if running isn't an option, and tell the police. It comes about a month after a guidance document on the subject was released mistakenly.

"The intention of the film is not to unnecessarily scare the public but to ensure that they know what steps to take in the unlikely event of being involved in a firearms or weapons attack," the government said in a release about the video.

The footage explains that the current threat level in the UK is set at "severe," meaning that an attack is highly likely. Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said last month that an attack similar to that in Paris could "easily" happen in London.
