At least 20% of adults in each U.S. state were obese in 2014, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention data released Monday.
The numbers come from a set of nationwide telephone surveys used by the CDC to monitor Americans' health-related risk behaviors, chronic health conditions, and use of preventive services.
The latest round showed that no state had a prevalence of adult obesity below 20%. Colorado had the lowest rate of adult obesity, with 21.3%, while Arkansas, Mississippi and West Virginia fared the worst, with prevalence rates above 35%.
