Clowns may be known for their big shoes and silly jokes, but some have a tougher side. Underneath their congested red noses, there's a badass clown, just waiting to emerge.

Shane Farberman, a Toronto-based clown who goes by "Doo Doo the International Clown," attracted international attention after he saved two women from an assault last Sunday. Around 3 p.m., Farberman was driving through Toronto when he noticed a man jumping up and down on a car. Farberman proceeded to call 911 and follow the man in his car.

After the man, who appeared to be mentally distressed, took a swipe at two women, Farberman took action. Though he was still dressed as Doo Doo –- in full costume and make-up – Farberman screamed at the women to get in his car. He later realized the scene might have looked a little bizarre.

“[They’re] looking at a black hummer, and a clown screaming 'Get in! Get in!,'” he told The Toronto Star.

Eventually, the women jumped into Farberman’s car, where there were two other clowns in the backseat. Though the man followed them and proceeded to attack the car, the group escaped.

Farberman, dressed as Doo Doo, once appeared in the Adam Sandler movie Billy Madison. On Monday, he received a celebratory scroll Toronto, as well warm words from City Councillor Norm Kelly.
