There are people in costumes and makeup everywhere at New York Comic Con, but relatively few opportunities to get made up.
The exception is a small booth run by NYX Comsmetics, where makeup artist and YouTube star Alexys Fleming was transforming one model into a perfectly green replica of Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy.
The full-body makeup process, most of which we time-lapsed here, took hours. Throughout, the model had to remain standing with her arms slightly outstretched. Fleming would continually ask if she was okay; the model would, in turn, ask Fleming how she was holding up.
As Fleming told her model, she's used to this. On her popular YouTube channel MadeYouLook, Fleming spends hours transforming herself into creatures, dolls, lizards and more.
Fleming's videos get hundreds of thousands of views, and she appears to have quite a fan base among teenage girls. When a couple of starstruck teenage fans spotted Fleming at work, they almost cried when she spoke to them.
