'Jeopardy!' guest host Aaron Rodgers gets trolled brilliantly by contestant

Rodgers handled it well, at least.

Welcome to the big time, Aaron Rodgers.

Sure, the Green Bay Packers quarterback has won a Super Bowl, but hosting Jeopardy! — that's a whole different ballgame.

Case in point: Rodgers was brilliantly trolled by a contestant during the QB's debut show, which aired on Monday night.

In the video clip, contestant Scott Shewfelt asked Rodgers — via his written answer — "Who wanted to kick that field goal?"

For the folks not into sports, here's a quick explanation of what's going on: Late in last season's NFC Championship game — a big playoff matchup — Rodgers' team opted to kick a field goal in a critical moment instead of going for a touchdown to tie the score.

The Packers ended up losing the game and a chance at the Super Bowl. It was a pretty baffling choice and an apparent point of tension between Rodgers and his coach, who made the decision.

Rodgers, to his credit, handled Shewfelt's troll pretty well.

"That is a great question," Rodgers said, while laughing. "Should be correct but unfortunately for this game today that's incorrect."

Rodgers is the guest host of Jeopardy! for the next two weeks. The iconic show is giving a number of famous folks a chance to host — Ken Jennings, Dr. Oz, and Anderson Cooper, to name a few — after the passing of legend Alex Trebek.

Perhaps befitting of a professional competitor, Rodgers has indicated he'd love to host the show full-time while not giving up his day job.

"I don’t think I’d need to give up football to do it. They film 46 days a year. I worked 187 this year in Green Bay," he told The Ringer in an interview. "That gives me, eh—[pauses]—178 days to do Jeopardy! So I feel like I could fit 46 into that 178 and make it work. It would be a dream job for sure, and I’m not shy at all about saying I want the job. That’s how I went into it. I want an opportunity to be in the mix."
