It's not quite "Alexa, play that one song I heard that time with no other details whatsoever," but it's close.

Amazon Echo users can now ask Alexa to play songs based on "time passed," according to The Verge. That means Alexa will now be able to understand voice commands like "play that dinner playlist from last Saturday" or "play something I haven't heard in a while." That's right, Alexa is getting closer to achieving unity with our musical thoughts and needs.

There's a catch, though: the casual time-passed commands only work with Amazon Music and Amazon Music Unlimited, not services like Spotify or Apple Music. With Alexa's ability to set songs as wake-up alarms, create playlists on voice-command, and play music based on moods or events like "sexy time music," its stable of voice controls make it an appealing competitor in the streaming service market.

Take that, Siri.
