This week was full of tech news. Apple launched a (RED) iPhone, we heard Instagram is adding bookings to the app and Elon Musk just teased Tesla's next car. It's a lot, so you may have missed some of the best new apps out there.

We've kept up for you. Each week, we round up the latest app news, along with a few of our favorite new and updated products, to keep you in the loop with everything coming to your smartphone.

Here's what caught our eye this week. If you're looking for more, make sure to check out last week's instalment.

The first Mario mobile game is now on Android and it's beautiful. The app is free, but it charges you $10 for every level after the first three stages. The upcoming Version 2.0 will likely bring even more features, including an easy mode. Download: Android and iOS.

Uber for teens

Uber has announced a new feature called "Teen Accounts," which allows those aged 13 to 17 to join a "Family Profile." The app then gives parents updates on their teens' movements as well as access to their location for up to 20 minutes after the ride ends. No more sneaking out!

Instagram is blurring sensitive content

2016 was a great year for Instagram. The company added 1 million advertisers and a heap of new features. The latest? Blurring sensitive photos and requiring users to tap to reveal. Censorship has previously been a big issue for the platform, and marking images as sensitive is a huge step up from just deleting them.

Google is redesigning its mobile apps and website with shortcuts as it continues to evolve from a search engine into an answer engine. The new update helps you catch up on certain topics, sports teams, artists and more.

Google also announced new location sharing features for Google Maps, which allow friends to follow your trip. The company has made several attempts at this kind of update in the past, but we'll have to wait and see if this one becomes popular.

Facebook is finally, finally testing a gif button on comments similar to the feature in Messenger and we're excited.

And lastly, T-Mobile is doubling down on its fight against those annoying robocalls.
