Apple’s new, long-anticipated MacBook Pro models are finally here, and the company says it will soon bring them to India. Like everything else Apple in India, they will be expensive.

The new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar will start at Rs 155,900 ($2,330). This model will feature a 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of flash storage. The same model starts in the United States at $1,799.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar will start at Rs 205,900 ($3,080). The base model features a 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory and 256GB of flash storage. This model starts in the United States at $2,399.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro, which Apple is pegging as the successor to the 13-inch MacBook Air, featuring Retina Display, a 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, and 256GB of flash storage, will set you back by at least Rs 129,000 ($1,930). The same model is retailing in the United States at $1,499.

The new MacBook Pro models are pricier, but they cost even more in India because of local duties. Do note, if you opt for more memory, more powerful processor, and more storage, the corresponding price will jump up accordingly. The company hasn't yet shared exactly how much the higher variants of these models will cost in India.

All these new MacBook Pro models come with a Force Touch trackpad, offering contextual options in some applications on hard pressing. More importantly, the new models are powered by Intel 6th-gen (Skylake) processor, giving the MacBook lineup a much need muscle boost. They come with four Thunderbolt 3.0 ports, which can be used for charging or adding peripherals.

On the other hand, MagSafe charger has been ditched and the regular USB ports (USB Type-A) are also gone, and also there's no SD card slot. Also you will need to buy a handful of connectors and adapters to connect any peripheral, which again don't come cheap.
