People, stop bringing your fridges and couches onto trains

You have to admire the effort, though.

We're sure some people have entertained the thought of saving on the movers, and moving house with the aid of the public transport system.

Fortunately, some of us realise furniture and whitegoods are heavy. And that it's pretty damn annoying for other commuters.

Queensland Rail in Australia released CCTV footage on social media of travellers using its trains to carry a fridge and a couch, pleading with people to go "book a removalist."

In the case of the fridge, a man can be seen using a hand trolley to manoeuvre the fridge into an elevator and then the platform at Bowen Hills station.

The man in question was fined A$252 (US$192) by rail security officers for bringing an oversized item, plus more for fare evasion according to ABC News. Another video shows a man moving a couch on and off a train, flipping it until he found a shopping trolley.

"We obviously need to be mindful of other people travelling; trains are for people, they aren't for fridges and couches unfortunately," Queensland Rail's Justine Scarff told the news outlet.

"I hope he decided to book a removalist as we would encourage people to do, or call up one of his mates with a ute."

You have to admire the commitment though.
