Free advice from your pals here at Mashable: do not mess with rattlesnakes. Even if they're swimming in a lake and you are "safely" in a boat.

Twitter user Anthony Baciocco tweeted a video of such an instance. While they were out boating on a lake, a rattlesnake lost at sea saw the group's boat as a way out. At first the boaters laughed it off, but then things got very real, very fast.

The snake nearly succeeds at getting on the boat, which would have made things roughly 100000000000x worse for the boaters, but luckily they are somehow able to finally get away from what can only be described as the Michael Phelps of rattlesnakes.

Though rattlesnake bites are very rarely fatal to humans, they are still extremely venomous and should for sure be avoided at all costs.
