'Avengers: Infinity War' breaks $2 billion at the box office
In the month and a half since its April 27 release, Avengers: Infinity War has grossed over $2 billion worldwide – and it's the fourth movie in history to do so.
The only other films ever to earn more than $2 billion in the global market are Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Avatar, and Titanic (which released multiple times to hit that number). Infinity War is the only superhero movie to pass that benchmark and the second Disney property – it's also the only summer release; as TheWrap notes the others all premiered in December.
Since its release, Avengers: Infinity War broke records for early presale, for opening night, opening day, opening weekend, and crossed the $1 billion mark in just 11 days. It's still in the top five for weekend grosses as we head into the official summer season.
Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters.
