Surprising absolutely nobody, Avengers: Infinity War opened on Thursday with some impressive numbers at home and abroad, making it the most successful Thursday preview for a Marvel movie yet.

Avengers: Infinity War took in $39 million in domestic Thursday night previews, making it Marvel's top-grossing movie out of all of its Thursday previews and the No. 4 movie of all time in Thursday previews, Disney shared.

Trailing behind Infinity War in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are Avengers: Age of Ultron at $27.6 million followed by Black Panther at $25.2 million and Captain America: Civil War at $25 million.

Outside of Marvel, Infinity War is sitting at fourth place of all time behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $57 million, Star Wars: The Last Jedi at $45 million, and Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2 at $43.5 million, according to Deadline.

Meanwhile, in international markets, the movie pulled in $95 million in its first two days, which doesn't even include major markets like Russia and China where the movie will open in May. Infinity War had such a booming success right out of the gate that it broke opening day records in 13 countries and regions across the globe.

Avengers: Infinity War is the third Avengers film to come out of the MCU, bringing together the largest amount of superheroes under one roof to battle against the universe's big bad: Thanos. It hasn't gotten the best praise out of all the Marvel tentpoles, but it's still an Avengers movie and fans aren't going to miss it.
