And... we're... LIVE.

Television has given us many things over the past year.

The second Season of Stranger Things. A fresh Twin Peaks chapter. The sweet, dulcet tones of David Attenborough, gently narrating a bunch of new Blue Planet episodes.

But forget about all of that for the moment, because television has also given us something else: a whole treasure trove of glorious viral moments.

From misfired questions to the one and only BBC dad, here's a roundup of the most laugh/cringe-inducing live TV moments from Britain in 2017...

1. This BBC news anchor getting lost at the start of a broadcast.

Tom Donkin struggled to locate the right camera for a full 18 seconds, but he got there in the end.

2. This Sky Sports reporter's inconveniently-timed text message.

Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz instantly regretted his attempt to show viewers a photo on his phone.

3. Tim peaked being asked about his trip to "the moon".

TV host Amanda Holden asked astronaut Tim Peake if he took back a piece of the moon during an interview on This Morning.

"So I wasn't in the moon, I was in the space station," was the astronaut's response.

4. This BBC weather presenter's giggling fit.

BBC Scotland weather presenter Kawser Quamer spent 70 seconds desperately trying not to laugh after one of the name captions went rogue during a weather reporter.

5. Mo Farah's little boy totally taking over an Awards ceremony.

Clear evidence that small children and live television do not mix well.

6. And this kid totally disrupting an ITV report.

Further evidence that small children and live television do not mix well.

7. This BBC anchor's glorious lack of enthusiasm for the royal baby.

You may find the royal baby interesting, but Simon McCoy does not.

8. This excitable reporter repeatedly yelling at Meghan Markle.

'Megs! Megs! MEGS!"

9. This presenter accident dropping the c-bomb.

"That was a mixture of 'country' and 'culture', wasn't it?" said Naga Munchetty in response to Dan Walker getting his words nightmarishly fumbled on BBC Breakfast.

Good save.

10. Holly Willoughby casually dropping a Star Wars spoiler live on air (do NOT watch this if you've yet to see The Last Jedi).

John Boyega putting his head in his hands mid-interview pretty much sums this one up.

11. And last (but the absolute opposite of least), BBC dad.

Never forget.
