Forget scissors and combs—get your hair cut by an ax, if you're brave enough

WTF.

Scissors and combs are fine if you want a normal, non-anxiety-inducing haircut.

But if you're looking to add a little excitement to your hair maintenance routine, try a shear that's a bit more dangerous with like, I don't know, an ax, perhaps?

A Russian hairdresser from the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, Daniil Istomin, used the sharp tool to give his client's hair a little trim and claimed it's easier to cut hair with an ax instead of scissors.

Why? WHY? There are easier ways to get a haircut, we swear. We've survived every haircut ever done by a pair of scissors or a razor. This is as terrifying as getting your head set on fire during a haircut, which is also an unnecessarily dangerous thing that happens.

We don't know if this is something people do to troll the rest of the internet, or if it's something they do to become Insta-famous, but it's dangerous, people. From what we can see, this doesn't seem to be something salons typically offer.

We're so stressed. Is this a way to complete some kind of lumberjack look?

According to Men's Health, the scary technique was originally used in the '30s and '40s as a way for ax salesmen to demonstrate the power of their tools in front of a large crowd of potential customers. But it's 2017--this is an avoidable means of grooming that we can seriously leave in the past now.

Yes, that's a meat cleaver, and yes, it's too close to that man's head.

Verdict: Axes and hammers should not be involved in haircuts. See a regular barber. You're guaranteed to leave their chair with both your ears and your scalp.
