LOS ANGELES -- As if Jordan Rodgers' attempt to step out of his big brother Aaron's shadow wasn't hard enough, his ex-girlfriend just doused him with a big bucket of shade.

Rodgers, the 27-year-old former NFL backup/practice squad QB (who, unlike his Super Bowl MVP big bro, never actually took a snap in the pros) emerged Monday night as a front-runner in the new season of The Bachelorette, getting in the only kiss -- and the first-impression rose.

And is it any wonder. Rodgers immediately got a leg up on Season 9 Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher -- who's known to have a thing for professional athletes -- when he made sure to slip in during their first conversation that he was a "player" who had "retired." (Not-too-subtle code words for "I was a professional athlete.")

And here's where it gets shady: In his voice-over, Rodgers had said that he had been in a relationship, but his "focus on football" had taken its toll. Awww, sad football helmet emoji.

But! Rodgers' ex, Nashville-based athletic trainer Brittany Farrar, had a different account of his, uh, playing days.

"Riding the bench doesn't get in the way of a relationship, but cheating does," she wrote Monday on Instagram, adding some choice hashtags.

And if you thought Farrar was taking pot-shots from a safe distance, think again: Farrar is besties with Olivia Munn (whom she also trains). Munn has been dating Aaron Rodgers, who still starts for the Green Bay Packers, for about a year now.

Yeah. It could get awkward in the skybox.
