Barack Obama has been quiet as the Democratic presidential primary starts to heat up but the former president sent the country some well-wishes on the Fourth of July.

It also happens to be the birthday of the president's older daughter, Malia, who got a shout-out as well.

The photo shows Barack Obama, and from left his wife Michelle, daughters Malia and Sasha, an unnamed woman, and mother-in-law Marian Robinson. It wasn't clear when the photo was taken.

Conspicuously, but perhaps unsurprisingly, there were no tanks in the Obama family's holiday celebrations.
