We all know the drill by now. Amazon's Big Spring Sale is ending today, and suddenly everyone is trying to justify buying another air fryer or a new TV (which, I mean, fair). But if you want to outsmart the algorithm and save money where it counts, you need to refrain from your wants and focus on your needs.

Which means the absolute smartest way to shop this sale: the boring stuff.

You know, the everyday, unsexy household essentials we are literally forced to buy anyway. Why pay full price for trash bags, laundry detergent, dishwasher pods, or paper towels? You're just going to throw them in the garbage or flush them down the toilet eventually.

Amazon is dropping prices on a ton of these pantry and closet staples. Just a quick reminder: while anyone can shop the sale, Prime members are the ones who'll get those exclusive "Best Deals." So if you're borrowing an account, now's the time to log in. And you might want to hop to it, since we're in the final few hours of the sale. Noticeably missing from the Amazon Big Spring Sale are Crest Whitestrips. These are a staple for every major Amazon sale, so it's odd to see them left out. Here's hoping to restock during Prime Day.

Here are the best boring (but entirely essential) deals you can add to your cart before the sale ends tonight.

Trash bags and other kitchen essentials

Laundry sheets, detergent, and pods

Toilet paper and paper towels
