As any devout Big Mac lover knows, the special sauce is where its allure lies.

Alas, except for special promotions in Australia (and one very expensive bottle auctioned in the UK), the sauce has been available solely in McDonald's for U.S. burger lovers.

Until now.

McDonald's is giving away 10,000 bottles of Big Mac Special Sauce in conjunction with the release of its Grand Mac and Mac Jr. sandwiches (The former has two 1/6 lb. patties and the latter has one 1/6 patty and dispenses with the middle bun layer).

Details on how hungry burger lovers can win bottles will be announced Jan. 25. But, if you are one of the lucky customers at participating restaurants, you can actually take the sweet and creamy orange sauce home to put on your nuggets, your burgers, your turkey sandwiches and anything else you desire.

McDonald's chef Mike Haracz tells Mashable, "We know there’s a lot of love for McDonald’s Big Mac special sauce and, in fact, actually found it’s the most talked about ingredient when it comes to the Big Mac."

He also says the sum is greater than the whole of its parts and there's no one special ingredient that makes Big Mac Sauce so irresistible, so it's not as easy as just doctoring up some ketchup at home (though there are copycat recipes for those who need their fix immediately).

Haracz said Big Mac fan and Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper is at the top of the list to receive a bottle, along with, "a few other celebrity fans[of the sauce]." A surefire way to try the bottled sauce is just to become friends with Bradley Cooper, which was probably on your to-do list, anyway.

There is no plan to immediately take this glorious spread to retail market, so if you're one of the lucky ones to take home the goods, the memory may be enough to last you a lifetime.

At least, here's hoping, because there's no way the sauce is going to last that long.
