'Black Panther' returns to theaters with free screenings for a victory lap

One year after its release, Black Panther is returning to theaters for the first week of February.

Black Panther, which won the Screen Actors Guild Award for outstanding cast performance on Sunday and has earned seven Academy Awards nominations including best picture, is taking a well-deserved victory lap.

The return to theaters from Feb. 1-7 will be at 250 AMC locations across the United States with two free showings a day. To see if a theater near you is participating and to grab your tickets, you can check out the website here.

Black Panther's second theater run is a celebration of Black History Month, Disney stated in a press release. On top of offering free screenings of the groundbreaking Marvel movie, the Walt Disney Company will be giving a $1.5 million grant to the United Negro College Fund.

Along with a best picture Oscar nomination, Black Panther has also been nominated for best original score, original song, costume design, production design, sound editing, and sound mixing. Black Panther is also the first superhero movie to earn a best picture nomination at the Academy Awards.
