Excited for Black Panther? So are we. Which is why we're rolling out obsessive coverage with Black Panther Week.

T'Challa reigns supreme over movie reviews, where Black Panther has the highest Rotten Tomatoes score of any live-action superhero movie. As for superhero movies in general? It's tied with The Incredibles, so we'll allow it.

Black Panther is currently rocking a 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, the same score The Incredibles leveled out at in 2004. To date, the highest rated live-action superhero movie in the MCU was 2008's first Iron Man (it hit 94 percent, as did DC's The Dark Knight later that year). Most Marvel movies earned fairly high ratings, including last year's Thor: Ragnarok and Spider-Man: Homecoming (both at 92 percent), with the historical low going to Thor: The Dark World (66 percent). Logan and Wonder Woman both scored high in 2017, scoring big victories for non-Avengers Marvel and DC overall.

Since superhero movies, you know, got good in the early 2000s, most earned solid critical ratings at around 75 percent or higher (notable exceptions being the likes of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, resting down at 27 percent. The worst-rated superhero movie historically is 1984's Supergirl (7 percent).

Beyond being the best-reviewed superhero movie since a 14-year-old Disney/Pixar joint, Black Panther already broke Marvel's advanced ticket sales record on Fandango and as of two weeks before its release was pacing to be one of the biggest superhero movie releases ever.

Black Panther is in theaters Friday (with screenings on Thursday, if you can find tickets, lol).
