Finally, Bono caught a break.

The U2 frontman is one of several noteworthy investors who are going to pocket some nice change after it was announced corporate food giant Nestlé is spending half a billion dollars to buy a majority stake (68 percent) in coffee start-up Blue Bottle.

And in doing so, they've made some notable folks a little bit richer.

Aside from Bono, here are a few of the other poor schlubs who finally got luck to turn their way with Nestlé's chocolaty, bold move:

  • Enigmatic actor/musician Jared Leto

  • Skateboard/video game legend Tony Hawk

  • The band Linkin Park (under their Machine Shop venture)

  • Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom

  • Twitter co-founder Ev Williams

  • WordPress creator Matt Mullenweg

  • The folks at GV (formerly Google Ventures)

  • All-around entrepreneur Chris Sacca

Founded in the Bay Area at the turn of the century, Blue Bottle now has cafes in the Bay Area, New York City, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and Tokyo. Plus, you can find their coffees in select grocery stores across the country, with availability sure to become wider now.

The company's founder, James Freeman, told the New York Times of the deal, “One of the biggest food companies in the world has really voted in favor of very delicious coffee.”

Me, though? I'll just be happy knowing that the next $5 I plunk down at my local Whole Foods for a small carton of that sweet NOLA iced coffee will go to helping those in need.
