Who doesn't hate being dragged along to something you don't want be at?

Take this kid with a Spongebob Squarepants shirt who sat through a dreary and unexciting political broadcast in Australia on Tuesday night.

"Spongebob Boy," as he's come to be known, was pulling faces behind the ABC's political commentator Barrie Cassidy during an analysis of the country's 2016-17 Federal Budget. It eventually sent this kid, plus some of us, to sleep.

Soon Twitter was blowing up with people sympathising with "Spongebob Boy," you know, because they were also dying a slow, tax-infused death.

The Daily Mail Australia tracked down Spongebob Boy, a seven-year-old by the name of James Watling from Australia's political capital, Canberra. Turns out his mother Kassie was only hoping to snap a photo with ABC political commentator Annabel Crabb.

"James pulling faces was -- we thought -- not disturbing anyone so we let it go. He constantly amuses us. I'm pleased James gave some amusement to viewers on TV," Watling said. She expressed that Spongebob Boy was more into "schoolyard politics," with his only goal to find out how much more pocket money he could make from the Budget.

Canberra, boring? Who would have known. We feel for you, Spongebob Boy.
