People clapped when this boy was escorted off a flight after an allergic reaction
Little Giovanni is heartbroken.
The 7-year-old traveler got a glimpse of humanity's darker side on Monday when passengers in the back of his airplane applauded as he was escorted off an Allegiant flight in Washington state.
He had suffered an allergic reaction, causing a 90-minute delay.

"They clapped," his mother, who was stunned, told Seattle's KING5. "The people toward the back of the plane clapped."
To make matters worse, the family was on their way to visit loved ones because Giovanni's father George Alvarado has Stage IV throat cancer.
"That made me really sadder when I was already sad. I’m sad this has to be a memory with my dad.”

Of the people on the flight, he added: “People that do not have sadness, they don’t understand what it feels like to have sadness."

Allegiant told the New York Daily News it was in "direct contact with this family" and "offered them our sincere apologies with regard to their negative experience."
Alvarado, for his part, has a message for the passengers who clapped.
"You don’t know how much time people have or why they’re hurting," he said. "Just be nice. Be kind.”
