People in Brussels hold vigils after terror attacks in their city
A large crowd began forming in the Bourse Square in Brussels just before 9 p.m. local time on Tuesday, following attacks that killed 31 people and injured many others.
Locals began paying tribute to the victims earlier in the day, using chalk to write messages of peace on the plaza.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks, which occurred just four days after Belgian police apprehended Salah Abdeslam.
Abdesalam is a suspect in the November attacks on Paris, which killed 130 people at restaurants throughout the city and a concert hall.

Officials in in neighboring France and Germany also paid tribute to the Brussels victims.
