Harper, a 23-year-old superstar for the Washington Nationals, sits at the crux of a tired debate about baseball's so-called "unwritten rules." Many old-timers (ahem, Goose Gossage) feel celebrations and showing actual emotion during sporting events "disrespect" the game and opponents. Harper is among a younger generation of MLB players that thinks the old fogies and mall-cops need to relax.
The debate is dumb, but this hullabaloo over a post-homer bat flip last fall sums it up aptly. But we digress. After his excellent opening game Monday, Harper wore this hat.
