It's quite possibly one of the most Australian videos ever, but it has also landed one father in quite some trouble.

Alex Dobson posted a video last Wednesday showing his 5-year-old son doing a burnout in the driveway of his Queensland home.

The video quickly garnered thousands of views, but resulted in Queensland Police seizing the car on Saturday. Its child protection unit is investigating, it confirmed to Mashable.

"When your 5 year old says... Dad, can i do a burnout? Sure son, no worries," the video's caption reads. "Remember a car addiction stops a drug addiction."

Dobson was quite happy to let him son do the burnout, encouraging his son throughout then high fiving him after his stops.

"All by himself, hell yeah buddy. That's my boy," Dobson said in the video.

Dobson explained to 9 News that he's been taking his son to burnout competitions ever since he was born.

"He knows a hell of lot for a 5-year-old child. He's not your average 5-year-old," he said.

The video has been on the receiving end of plenty of flak from other people, labelling it dangerous. Dobson told the news outlet that he would never put his son's life at risk.

But he did express that he is beginning to regret posting the video, considering how quickly it has been shared online.

"Only because how far it’s gone and the consequences," Dobson said.
