Before Carson Wentz was a hotshot NFL rookie, he was a delightfully dorky teenager performing goofy YouTube tricks with his friends.

Wentz's pro football career is off to a smashing start: The second overall pick in last April's NFL Draft locked down the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback position before his first official game.

But the internet never forgets, and a gem from Wentz's less glamorous past just emerged.

Way back in 2011, Wentz and his friends made the video below. You might think the trick-shots are fake, but then consider this: This is a future NFL Draft pick we're looking at; we'd be remiss to underestimate his accuracy.

That's a great four minutes not just for the dorky trick shots, but also for a candid look at Wentz way, way back before anyone projected him as a top NFL Draft pick.

The video was originally uploaded on March 30, 2011, and resurfaced this Thursday thanks to a Deadspin tipster. Wentz's new NFL team was quick to pounce by editing this clip of him at an Eagles practice together with some of that old wastebasket footage.

Well played, Eagles. Well played.
