Despite torrential rain and floods, locals in central China get on with their daily lives

Even when Mother Nature is making it almost impossible to go about doing your thing, sometimes you just have to soldier on and look on the bright side of things -- with rain boots on.

Wuhan City in Hubei, China, was hit by a 48-hour torrential downpour since early Wednesday morning, which saw massive floods envelope the city's main roads and vehicles being dragged away.

A video posted online showed how strong the floods were.

According to China Daily, rainfall in the area reached an all-time high of 115 millimetres.

Despite the waterlogged streets, Wuhan's locals still managed to go on with their daily lives, bravely wading through the knee-deep waters.

Some even resorted to climbing on top of cars and walking on fences to get around. A few were spotted being carried around.

Local media reports have joked about how the rain turned the city into a "seaside" city.


Although the rain has come to a stop and floods have since eased, authorities are still warning people on the dangers of the flood's aftermath.

Most of China is currently experiencing heavy rainfalls and thunderstorms, which have caused several deaths and injuries.
