It should be clear at this point that you sign up for a public shaming when you're rude to celebrities on Twitter.

And yet, we still have folks like Joey, a Twitter rando who on Tuesday paid the price for going after Chance the Rapper.

The exchange began over Chance's commentary on a CBS LA story about men who wonder if it's still OK to hug women in a post-Weinstein world. (His succinct take: "Gross. Don't.")

It escalated from there:

Joey, the aforementioned rando, made a critical mistake in responding to Chance's tweet, writing, "So we're cutting off all human contact between the sexes now? Isn't that Sharia law?"

To which the musician responded:

A masterful comeback on Chance's part. Thanks for playing, Joey.
