The last six months have been something of a rollercoaster for Brooklyn 99 fans.

First, Fox made the devastating announcement that they were cancelling the show, and that it wouldn't be returning for a sixth season. But then only a day later, NBC said they were bringing it back to life.

Now, though, we have bad news again. And this time it comes in the form of some tweets from actor Chelsea Peretti.

Yep: although Season 6 may not be entirely Gina Linetti-free, there will be significantly less Gina than we would like.

Following Peretti's tweets, her co-stars took to Twitter to wish her all the best.

The show's co-creator Dan Goor also posted a statement.

So, to summarise: we're going to have much less Gina in Season 6, but that doesn't mean she's gone for good.

In the meantime, this clip probably sums things up best:

Brooklyn 99 Season 6 doesn't yet have a release date, but the show is expected to start during the 2018-19 season.
