Another reason why dogs are the best. Oh, and Chris Evans.

The purest, sweetest love story of summer 2017 has come to an appropriately slobbery conclusion: Chris Evans has officially been reunited with his dog, Dodger.

And because Evans is the Best Chris, he's shared video footage so all of us can bask in their joy.

It's quite a turnaround from that harrowing time two months ago when we all thought Dodger was dead, thanks to this accidentally cryptic tweet by Evans:

Evans quickly clarified that Dodger hadn't died – they were just going to be separated for a while. Which is heartbreaking in its own way!

Throughout the summer, Evans continued to tweet about how much he missed his dog, because Evans is all of us when we're separated from our beloved pets.

One time, he even dropped in a #tbt to happier, more Dodger-filled times.

Evans and Dodger first got together in 2016, while he was filming Gifted. "One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel," he told People.

"I foolishly walked in and I thought, ‘Are these actor dogs or are these real up for adoption dogs?’ And sure enough they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude and he didn’t belong there. I snagged him and he’s such a good dog."

Later that same year, Dodger famously made an appearance in Evans' 22 Pushup Challenge video.

The BFFs spent Valentine's Day together, too.

In conclusion: I'm not crying you're crying.
