Christoph Waltz has some passionate thoughts to share about Nigel Farage, the Leave campaigner who has announced he'll stand down as leader of the UK Independence Party despite the Brexit vote.

During an interview with Sky News, the Austrian-German actor, who's in London to promote his new film The Legend of Tarzan, said in reference to Farage:

"Of course the head rat would leave the sinking ship. It's inevitable, you know."

In announcing his resignation, Farage said he had "done my bit" following Britain's referendum vote to leave the European Union. “During the referendum I said I wanted my country back … now I want my life back,” he said at a press conference.

That didn't sit well with Waltz:

"They tried to dress it up as heroic exit - no it's conceding defeat, it's putting the tail between their legs and as rats do, leave the sinking ship, leave the mess for others to clean up and retreat into some profitable other business."

"That shows you how despicable these people are that they can't even stand up for what they caused."

When the Sky News reporter asked if he was against Brexit, the Spectre and Inglourious Basterds actor snapped:

"Oh, 100%. A little too emotionally because I can't, I can't comprehend the abysmal stupidity."
