Are you looking to buy a face mask to protect yourself, your community, and do some good too? Now that the CDC recommends everyone wear a cloth face mask in public places where it's difficult to social distance, it's smart to have one on hand.

We've compiled a list of five companies to check out if you want to be health conscious and charitable.

In an effort to get masks to people on the front lines, Hedley & Bennett is jumping from making professional-grade aprons to non-surgical face masks. When you buy a Wake Up & Fight mask for yourself, an additional one will be sent to a healthcare worker, first responder, grocery store or restaurant employee, or someone else who is risking their life for us by working. Over 100,000 masks have been donated, according to its website. Each mask sells for $22.

The New York City-based clothing company Alice + Olivia is kicking into high gear with its Staceface Protective Face masks. With every Staceface sold (seemingly named for its CEO Stacey Bendet as her face looks to be printed multiple times on each mask), one will go to "communities in need," according to the Alice + Olivia website. Each mask is $10.

Grab yourself a colorful mask created by the Copenhagen-based fashion designer Emilie Helmstedt's company Helmstedt. All of the profits will be donated to the World Health Organization's (WHO) COVID-19 Solitary Response Fund, which supports the WHO's work to track and understand the spread of the virus, give patients the care they need, ensure frontline workers get essential supplies and information, and speed up research and development of a vaccine and treatment. Each mask is around $36.

Nineteenth Amendment

You have plenty of options for how many masks you want to donate with the New York City-based upscale fashion brand Nineteenth Amendment. If you buy one mask for $16, an additional one goes to a care center in need. The most expensive choice is spending $4,500, which gets you one mask and gives 1,000 to care centers. But don't worry, there are way less pricey alternatives on its site.

KES

A mask bought from Kes means an additional one is given to a healthcare professional. Each mask is made of cotton or silk charmeuse and comes in a variety of colors. There's also an interior pocket to insert a filter, such as HEPA filter which can capture harmful particles in the air. Each mask sells for $12.
