UK postal service lets David Bowie live on through their stamps
Put a little Stardust on your mail.
The Royal Mail Group, a postal service in the United Kingdom, has chosen to honor David Bowie, who passed away in January of last year, in the best way: by putting his face on their stamps.
Starting on March 14, people can order the limited edition David Bowie stamp collection which consists of six stamps that feature images of his album covers and four stamps that show Bowie performing live on tours across four decades.
This collection is very unique, not just because David Bowie was out of this world, but because this is the first time the Royal Mail Group has dedicated an entire stamp issue to an individual music artist or cultural figure. The only other music artists to have been honored with a dedicated stamp collection are The Beatles (2010) and Pink Floyd (2015). The Royal Mail Group's website describes Bowie as "endlessly innovative and pioneering, he is widely regarded as having elevated his music to an art form."
