The BAU has just lost a longtime member of the team. 

No, Derek Morgan is not dead. But, indeed, the beefcake agent played for 11 seasons by Shemar Moore has solved his final case on Criminal Minds

Though Moore's departure from the show had been long rumored, the confirmation came in Wednesday's new episode of the CBS procedural, as his character decided to leave the team and focus on being a family man -- one that, you know, doesn't get abducted and shot at.

The move comes during what's been an especially challenging season for Morgan, who survived a traumatic abduction just a few weeks ago.

Understandable as the character's motivations for leaving his post may be, that doesn't mean fans are taking it well. 

I mean, they're really not taking it well. 


Some people are heartbroken


Some people are mourning their lost 'ships


Others can't handle this cherry on top of a sundae of bad TV news


Some people are sad about the fractured friendship


Some are mourning the abs


Some people's entire months have been ruined


But most will simply be crying themselves to sleep tonight
