Leonardo DiCaprio will join President Obama to speak about climate change as part of South by South Lawn at the White House in October. The President will speak with DiCaprio, a long time climate change activist, and climate scientist Dr. Katharine Hayhoe.

South by South Lawn will bring together experts on art, technology, food, innovation and social change for one day to share their thoughts, ideas and plans for the future -- like the White House Student Film Fest, which will include appearances by the cast and creators of Stranger Things.

“Climate change is real. It is happening right now,” DiCaprio said in February while accepting his first Academy Award. “It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating."

South by South Lawn will take place at the White House on Oct. 3.
