When Apple launched Apple Music this time last year, it spent a good deal of time and energy recruiting major music tastemakers likely to encourage users to adopt the product.

Now Apple is continuing that approach by quietly rolling out a music and social media icon, DJ Khaled, as part of its Apple Music campaign.

The two video spots star Khaled alongside model and actress Naomi Campbell and actor Ray Liotta.

In the Campbell spot, Khaled shows off how Apple Music works while riding in a convertible along a sunny highway. Playing a track from his We the Best album and later a slower tune from R. Kelly, that spot ends with kiss.

The Liotta spot (which aired during the NBA Finals) has the DJ and the actor recalling a famous scene from Goodfellas, with Liotta prompting Khaled to bring up a specific tune via voice to prove the power of Apple Music.

Both spots are not only humorous, but do a decent job of showing off how Apple Music works.

Considering the initial critiques surrounding Apple Music's launch, as well as some glitches that continue to plague the product, a heavy dose of music industry street cred from Khaled couldn't have come at a better time.

Now if the Apple Music experience can live up to the caliber of celebrities promoting it, Apple may eventually have a winner on its hands.
